Boca imposed from the start: attack with clarity and move the ball. The first half ended with a 62-45 lead, after 14 triples in 22 attempts and 18 assists. The difference was large enough to be controlled, but the final score was not a walkover.

Brasilia attempted the comeback in the third quarter with a 29-27 run. Matheus Santos, the local figure, scored 29 points and hit five triples, while Augusto Leao finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. Boca, however, kept the margin and never allowed the match to become uncomfortable.

The numbers show a team that, when it gets going, looks like a well-oiled machine. Boca finished with 21 triples in 37 attempts, a 57 percent conversion rate, and 30 assists. The bench contributed 51 points. It is not magic, but in this competition that is worth a lot.

  • Micheal Warren led Boca with 18 points.
  • Tomás Monacchi scored 17 points and hit five triples in seven attempts.
  • Nicolás Stenta contributed 12 points and nine rebounds.
  • Agustín Barreiro closed with 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Now comes the real test. From November 13 to 15, Boca will play in Group F alongside Brasilia and the top two teams from Group D, whose qualifiers will be decided this weekend in Rio de Janeiro. The two best of Groups E and F will advance to the Final Four on December 5 and 6.

The question is whether Boca can keep this level against teams that will arrive with different motivations and, probably, different headaches. The group stage was perfect; the tournament has just begun. Boca knows the way, but in continental basketball the easiest games are often the ones that come later. We'll see.
